Feature piece on Lillis’s production of Amélie by Aria Young, featuring Senzel Ahmady and Nick Salem

“I really was reminded of how this show is all about unconditional acts of kindness, for really no reason. It’s about being nice to people, and it’s kind of as simple as that. And this cast, and crew, and creative team, and everyone — we got really good at just kind of holding each other up throughout everything. I like to think – and I’ve been told that in the final show – that you could really see and feel that.”

TNT Amélie Show Announcement by Chloe Rabinowitz

"I think Amélie is relevant today for so many reasons. It's a story about a girl who has spent almost her entire life in solitude. We've all recently come out of a period of isolation due to the pandemic and have to relearn how to forge relationships. Right now, it may seem like the world is lacking a bit of kindness. So, we hope audiences who come to see our show will be immersed in Amélie's world - a place filled with care and love - and feel inspired to channel the same energy in our everyday lives," Lillis said.

Interview with Zoë by Kayla Herrera-Daya

“I find a lot of inspiration in other artists, in their work, but it’s more in their process. I’m obsessed with quotes, they’re all over my desk, I have two on my laptop, and they get me through the day in some senses … Sometimes, as a director it ends up being a lot more about the process than you think. Obviously there’s the big overarching vision for the show, and how things should look and how things should feel, but it can really only come from you. The bigness can really only come from you.”

TNT Offstage Show Announcement by BWW News Desk

“Tisch New Theatre’s ‘Offstage’ shines a spotlight on stories often left untold,” by Jennifer Ren

“Whether it’s auditions, interviews or classes, there are moments that ask us to tell the narratives of our lives. However, when the world is full of judgment and prejudices, certain people are often ignored in the arts. Fortunately, Tisch New Theatre offers a space for its actors to claim their voice, while encouraging the audience to be themselves.”
